about me: Hello, My name is Tatiana L. and I am currently a Queens College student who is majoring in Design and Studio Art with a Painting concentration. I am a mixed media enthusiast, who always loves to experiment and think out of the box.
design philosophy: My design philosophy is to create designs that are engaging to the audience, while also presenting a clear message. I believe designs should be fun, and exciting to look at. I enjoy creating cohesive designs that touch on how the viewer feels. Emotions are the way humans are captivated and drawn into designs. By focusing on clarity and emotion I can create a well-balanced design. My main influences are from the Impressionism and Surrealism art movements. These art movements concentrate on colors, movement, and depth. I always want to create a composition with colors that are vibrant and captivating. While also creating a composition that hooks the viewer in. A project that helped me explore that, was my book cover of “The Invention of Morel.” I feel like I was able to use color to my advantage, to create an ominous mood, and to captivate the viewer. While also manipulating perspective and depth between the characters, to draw in the viewer to their connection. This was my main focus in this book cover and I was able to convey that with the Impressionist and Surrealist art techniques. I hope to incorporate those into my future designs as well.
